Well, my obsession with apple cider donuts continues. They debuted in 1951. I debuted in 1986. Once I had teeth I could not be stopped. I am literally eating an apple cider donut right now. (fun fact - the best ones come from places with ‘orchard’ in their name)
Anyway, if you’re like me and you want to do fun, spooky things in October…this is for you.
If you’re already hanging Christmas lights. Sorry. I’ll get to that in about a month.
But here are a few things I’ll be spending my time on this month.
A little weird, a lot cool
Yes, we actually have a vampire museum. VAMPA delves deep into vampire lore, paranormal history and all things delightfully eerie.
It features fine art, rare artifacts, and dark history exhibits you won’t find anywhere else.
Because apparently, a regular museum just wasn’t eccentric enough for Doylestown.
For people who enjoy being chased
Valley of Fear delivers the ultimate spooky season experience with its classic haunted hayride, creepy haunted manor and eerie Shipwreck Cove.
It’s built a reputation as the county’s most intense attraction. So if your idea of a great night involves paying to let strangers jump out of the dark at you...this is your place.
Nearly 500 reasons to take a night stroll
Canal-O-Ween transforms the canal walking path in Yardley with hundreds of carved, glowing jack-o’-lanterns lined up along the water.
It’s community crafted and considerably less stressful than a guy with a chainsaw chasing you. Perfect for a brisk evening walk with a warm drink in hand.
Langhorne has ghosts. Obviously.
Historic Langhorne Ghost Tours guides you through the borough’s winding streets, sharing centuries of history, historic architecture and shadowy urban legends by lantern light.
It’s local history, but with a delightfully creepy twist that will make you look at those old stone buildings a little differently.
All aboard the spooky express
The New Hope Railroad’s Trick or Treat Train brings Halloween fun to the tracks aboard a vintage train ride.
Costumed passengers enjoy seasonal music, storytellers and trick-or-treating along the way.
It’s the ideal autumn outing if your family wants the festive atmosphere without any nightmare inducing haunted houses.
You pick your poison. Let me know what you choose. As for me, I just might see you at any one of these. Because as you know, October is my favorite month.
Side note - we’re 7 months old today! Thanks for being on this ride with us.
May you find an apple cider donut on your adventures,
Cait
