This weekend will feel like fall fall. Highs in the 50s? Okay, I wasn’t quite ready but no one asks my opinion.
My real gripe this week is the pumpkin spice candle I bought smells like nothing at all. Imagine my irritation when I turn Hocus Pocus on and it still smells like dog instead of pumpkin in the house.
Anyway, onto more important things. Like what we can do this weekend.
Bristol turns 50 (well, the festival does)
Historic Bristol Day celebrates its 50th anniversary this Saturday.
This means historical tours (duh), a car show, antique boats and me eating riverside food.
It’s basically a big ole block party. But with a history degree, better boats and no lawn care drama.
For people who appreciate things not mass produced
Crafts in the Meadow is dropping 130+ artisans into the Tyler Park Center for the Arts over 2 days.
Expect handmade pottery, custom jewelry, glasswork, music and food nestled in a tranquil wooded setting. Well, semi-tranquil.
Consider this a polite warning to your wallet. You will want things.
Doylestown gets delightfully weird
Fangs & Fire is a full blown gothic masquerade complete with fire spinners and theatrical performances. 5 acts, you’re part of it, there will be dancing. Oh and it goes heavy on the vampire vibes.
Regular Halloween was far too mainstream and lacked sufficient pyrotechnics. Saturday night gonna be lit…
In between hitting up all the cool things this weekend, I’ll be searching for a candle that actually delivers on its promise.
As for you, I hope you enjoy whatever you choose!
May your knees hold up on the dance floor,
Cait
