🐣 Deviled eggs, baby cows & a 39th anniversary
Your Weekend Guide to Bucks' best.
Happy Friday! This is a big weekend for a lot of us.
Between egg hunts (mine is a deviled egg hunt that lasts for 3 days straight) and the inevitable stress of Easter dinner prep, you’ve got enough on your plate (literally).
This weekend is packed, so we’ve curated a guide to help you navigate Friday through Sunday.
👨👩👧👦 For Families
🐰 If you want to capture classic Bucks nostalgia, head over to New Hope this weekend. The Easter Bunny Express (a 45 minute vintage train ride through the countryside) is back on the rails.
The Bunny makes an appearance for photos and treats. And honestly, the view of the budding trees along the tracks is worth the ticket alone. It’s a nice way to get everyone out of the house and into the spring spirit.
🐮 For something a bit more unique, head to Pennsbury Manor in Morrisville this Saturday (2pm-4pm) for Daphne’s Birthday Party.
Celebrate the first birthday of the manor’s newest animal resident, a miniature heifer (not to be confused with me on my second plate at Easter brunch). If you go, make sure you get there early - the first 100 visitors receive free cupcakes. And the afternoon includes lawn games and birthday card crafting.
🥂 For Date Night
😂 Comedy Cabaret in Doylestown is celebrating its 39th anniversary Saturday night. It’s a classic, intimate comedy club atmosphere that practically guarantees a good time. Though I can’t promise it’ll be as funny as my heifer joke above.
If you’re into high energy stand-up in a legendary local room that has hosted huge names over the last four decades, this is where you want to be.
🍷 If a relaxed, social afternoon is more your speed…Crossings Vineyards in Newtown has a fun twist for adults with their Easter Candy & Wine Pairing event.
Explore how to pair classic holiday sweets with different wine varietals (apparently it’s more than just “chew candy & chug wine”).
💎 For Those Seeking Hidden Gems
🧑🍳 Everyone knows the big spots in Peddler’s Village, which is part of why it’s always bustling. But if you want to escape the crowds, look toward The Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm in Holicong. It’s a historic 100-acre estate that feels like you’ve stepped into a French country manor.
While it’s a premier B&B, their dining room is the real secret. It’s intimate, quiet, and serves world class cuisine without the chaotic noise of Doylestown’s main drags. If you like actually hearing your partner talk, this is your spot.
🧗 For the More Adventurous Among Us
🛝 If the kids still have energy Sunday morning, Altitude Trampoline Park in Feasterville is hosting an Easter Celebration.
From 11am to 1pm, they’ll have the full park open for jumping alongside a meet & greet with the Easter Bunny.
It’s a solid indoor alternative if you want to get some cardio in while the kids do their own thing.
☕ For Those Who Live for Brunch
🍽️ Steam Pub in Southampton is arguably the pick for a festive weekend meal. They’re hosting their annual holiday brunch buffet in their unique, converted train station location.
It features a full carving station with brisket and ham, alongside a la carte omelets, waffles and more. All that food in a good vibes, family friendly atmosphere. Sign us up!
Thanks for reading and enjoy your weekend! See you Sunday.
With love,
From Bucks
